AUTOMOBILE   HOMEOWNERS   BUSINESS   TOWING   FARM

It seems like just yesterday it was a frigid day in December and the boats that were being pulled up and down south Arkansas’s highways were full of decoys and hunting gear. Now, in a blink of an eye, it is the middle of May and summer is starting up. The same camo boats that I once saw filled with hunting gear are now filled with fishing poles, and the winter hunters are now spending there mornings and afternoons at their favorite fishing holes.

Before the big rains that came through the state early this month, the fishing reports for the East Arkansas including: Maddox Bay, Bear Creek Lake, and Storm Creek Lake were very good. The crappie and bream reports were excellent and the bass reports weren’t too bad either. Since the big rains that have come and gone this month, the fishing has slowed down a little bit, but should hopefully pick back up once the rivers work themselves down to their normal heights.

If you do decide to go out and try your luck fishing this summer, always be mindful of the Arkansas boating and fishing laws, as well as follow the safety tips outlined in the links below. If you have any questions about possible fishing spots or fishing reports, check out the Fishing Reports section of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commissions website listed below. There you can find weekly fishing reports from most of the public lakes and rivers in Arkansas.
